Or so said my dear friend in a recent email. She sent me a recipe that should turn all of you late night snackers, chocolate lovers, on the run eaters on your ear. Yes!! Now you, yes I’m looking at you, can have Chocolate Cake in only 5 minutes. 5 MINUTES, PEOPLE!!! Wait!! Wait!! I, too, thought she was kidding, but today I tried them and Holy Microwave, Batman!!! THESE. ARE. GOOD!!!
5 Minute Chocolate Cake
4 Tbl flour
4 Tbl sugar (splendra)
2 Tbl cocoa
3 Tbl milk
3 Tbl oil (could use Apple sauce here???)
3 Tbl chocolate chips (or white or butterscotch or PB chips) (optional)
A small splash of vanilla extract (or maybe almond…)
1 large coffee mug (12 oz) (MicroSafe)
Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix
thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. (Mine is 1100 watts and it took only 2 minutes.)
The cake may rise over the top of the mug, but don’t be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).
I mixed up one recipe and made enough to make two 6 oz mugs of cake.
Now, I know you are asking why this is the World’s Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake!!!!!
Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!
Sorry, no TWD this week. But maybe THIS chocolate cake will suffice……
