One of the most beautiful areas in the United States:

One of the harshest, but beautiful places in the United States:

    Chaco Canyon, New Mexico.

A destination landscape I’ve been craving for at least 20 years:

So many to chose from….

Living in the Deep South, Snow is a ‘never gonna happen’. Guess I wished enough cause….

P1030590

Not only once, but three times this past winter.
Be Careful What You Wish For??

As a young girl we lived overseas. I always wished to go back and visit the house I spent part of my childhood in…..

An old Grist Mill built during the time of Elizabeth I.

Fun living in a ROUND house!

    It hasn’t changed a bit. Well…since I was there.

But I also wished for…

P1020437

Traveling to Colorado to ride the rails.
The Durango-Silverton Railroad has spectacular views.

My wishes get less materialistic as I grow older. But I’m still wishing.

As I sat on my back porch in my rocking chair today, I could see, feel and smell summer ebbing away.

P1030277

I could hear the wind blowing softly through the trees. I could even see a few falling leaves.

P1030359

I can tell by the shorter days that fall is on the way. The hot, lazy days of summer aren’t going to stay.

Blissful spring has come and gone.
The remaining days of sleepy summer won’t last long.

Glorious fall colors will soon appear.

But, like the flowers of summer they will disappear.

I am an Air Force Brat. We traveled – A LOT! From the time I was 3 until I entered college I never lived anywhere longer than 2 years and usually less. We lived in England and Germany and lots of the different states. And I have pictures of all of it in my head and in old photo albums.

It wasn’t until MANY years later I started traveling again. With the kids and much later with the Hubs. And now it is just the Hubs and me. The trips we take together are the most memorable now.

to Acoma Pueblo, aka Sky City, New Mexico.

Until a movie was made there in the 1950s this was the ONLY way to reach the pueblo on top of the mesa.

Ordinarily I would have to say…my two beautiful grandchildren. My two wonderful children. My loving husband. But NOT this week. This week we started some remodeling. Every year we do one more thing. This time it’s the ‘Space’ which is dining room/office and the hall. While demolishing the walls we discovered, in our 90 year old house, that we could enlarge the pantry. For the past 35 years the pantry has been a 24″ by 26″ deep dark cave.

No lighting.

    Always digging for something.

Not knowing what we had or needed.

UGH!! Now….

    HAPPINESS IS…….

P1040890

LIGHT! ORGANIZATION! I CAN SEE!!!

The MAN can do no wrong for a long time.

Everytime I go by the door I open it, turn on the light, and just smile.

It’s the little things!

Water is calming. Being at the water’s edge is calming.
